Confrontation of the arguments
Part 1 - Argument 1:
Citizens of Berlin the Lower House vs. Be-4-Tempelhof
Versus - "The airport Tempelhof is a piece of history to the citizen of Berlin – not only as an airport." |
Pro - "The airport Tempelhof is a piece of history to the citizen of Berlin – not only as an airport." |
|
The airport Tempelhof was the first
airport in the world. It was the life line of West Berlin, during the blockade 1948/49. For
many citizen of West Berlin it remained, until 1975 the "Gate to the World". |
„"We have a monument for liberty, like the Statue of Liberty in New York. I believe, Tempelhof is the Statue of Liberty for Germany ", as per Gail S. Halvorsen, former Candy pilot. The historical meaning of Airport Tempelhof for the citizen of Berlin is undisputed. The term "Tempelhofer field" is not to equate with today's airport area. The senate and the "red-red coalition" in the Lower House are trying further
to mislead the population of Berlin. "Thank god", the older citizens of Berlin still remember
the way it was exactly:
Even before that World War 1 began the development of the Tempelhofer field at the today's upper highway. After the war the land development was advanced west to the "Tempelhofer Damm". "New Tempelhof", the "Askani High School", the "Round Church" and the "St. Joseph Hospital" belong all to the original Tempelhofer field! The airport as the former drilling and parade field delighted – as part
of the Tempelhofer of field!
